McSHANE STUDIO
Following the original house design in 2000, this graceful outbuilding completes a collection of rural building forms. The utilitarian building provides garage space, tractor storage and a small south facing studio space used for art work, bike repair and spring potting. Yielding in scale, the garage studio humbly supports the house while not dominating the arrival to the site. A 1700 gallon underground water tank accepts roof run off, adding to an existing 3000 gallon tank system that provides water for the house. Heat for the studio space is provided by a super efficient mini split heat pump. The out buildings construction was executed wonderfully by Gary Nye and his crew at Nye Building in the fall of 09’.
